Westfalia (Booth 9723) unveiled an August release date for version 3.0 of Savanna.NET warehouse management system (WMS) on Monday.
“Improvements have been made Savanna.NET making it even more intuitive and user-friendly for our customers. We’ve also made improvements to overall performance, data access and presentation functionality, while simplifying deployment of the application,” said Dave Williams, director of software and solution delivery.
Previous versions had a thicker client, Williams explained, requiring installation and upgrades to be made to individual workstations. “In the new version, changes are deployed at the server. When a user logs into the Savanna.NET client, the software automatically determines if the latest version is in operation; if not, it will update as needed, ensuring consistency across all machines automatically.”
Other enhancements include an upgrade to the underlying framework from .NET 3.5 to .NET 4.5 for better memory utilization and speed improvements. This also allows Westfalia to remain current with the latest technology and more streamlined, user-intuitive processing in the areas of receiving, shipping, order processing and host system interfaces.
Many features for food and beverage handlers, such as tracking shelf life and expirations, are also included.
