Scot Aitcheson, VP of sales for Yale Materials Handling Corp., (Booth 1003) was on hand at a booth visit to show the recent improvements to a number of Yale’s lift truck products that were driven by customer input.
“The market makeup is changing,” said Aitcheson. “We’re working to design the lift truck around the application, not the other way around.”
The linkage system on Yale’s rider pallet jack has been redesigned for strength and performance, while power steering makes operation accessible to workers of all shapes and sizes. The company’s reach truck and electric forklift have been similarly altered with an eye toward ease of use and maintenance, he added.
“As a result of the economy, customers are more open to something non-traditional,” said Aitcheson. “They’re looking at every tenth of a percent as well as total cost.”
