Dematic Control System

Dematic has introduced a new control system for its sliding shoe sorters that automatically adjusts the operating speed of the sortation system to match actual carton flow activity. This new control option allows the sortation system to dynamically accommodate the work load, reducing wear on the entire sortation sub-system, decreasing energy consumption, and lowering sound levels. Sensors on the infeed conveyors monitor package flow entering the sortation system. If the rate increases, the sort controls accelerate the sorter to optimize the flow of the increasing throughput. If volume decreases, the control system automatically slows the sorter to accommodate the reduced throughput rates. The Dematic automatic speed control system can be used with Dematic's R-S200 and S-L300 sorter.
