Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Fundamentals

This is a fundamental to intermediate presentation designed for personnel who need to use geometric tolerancing in an industrial environment. It is presented with computer color animated graphics, video clips and plastic models which allow the students to clearly understand the concepts. There is extensive discussion on the use of the datum reference frame and the application of the feature and datum MMC, LMC and RFS modifiers. 
The course is loaded with student workshop problems so the students can test their new skills. The course provides "practical world" approach to the subject, with the use of wood/plastic models that simulate parts, gages and inspection equipment. The basic philosophies of how, when, and where to apply geometrics along with common sense tips for producing quality parts are included. Discussion also covers the application of geometric tolerancing to design, manufacturing and quality control. 
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
 
Upon completion of this course, participants will have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of geometric tolerancing. The course includes emphasis on all rules, measurement theory, datum reference frames, form, orientation, profile, positional tolerancing and MMC, LMC & RFS concepts. The course is delivered per the ASME Y14.5M, 1994 and ISO standard. All participants receive a copy of the Geometric Tolerancing Workbook and Geometric Tolerancing Pocket Guide. 
TARGET AUDIENCE 
Anyone who needs to read an engineering drawing. This course is for engineers, designers, drafters, quality, procurement, tooling, production, purchasing manufacturing, CAD, inspection and shop personnel. 
SPECIAL NOTE: Participants may bring drawings to class for discussion.
