In the nation’s capital, buses run night and day thanks to Atlantic Transportation (ATEL). The company is responsible for all of the maintenance and repair of over 29 new European-style Van Hool buses for the city of Washington, D.C. Keeping buses on the road is what drives their business, and when their buses are out of commission ATEL pays, literally based on their pay for performance contract. To repair buses quickly ATEL stores over 100,000 parts at their 70,000 square foot service and repair facility in Landover, MD. Diamond Phoenix offers two new models of the SMARTdepot Multi-bay Vertical Lift Module. The SMARTdepot "LX" is configured with a single delivery window. This window can be located within any of the two, three or four storage bays and/or on any floor. Because there is only one opening in the machine, storage space is increased. The second model, the SMARTdepot "Marquis," comes standard with a dual-delivery window configuration. The Stanley Vidmar Vertical Lift Module Automated Storage and Retrieval System (VLM) gives users the organizational benefits of modular drawer storage, the space savings of an automated storage and retrieval system and the power and convenience of a Windows XP-based controller. The VLM is much more than a storage carousel. This vertical storage tower can hold as many as 240 drawers, and includes an elevator mechanism that fetches drawers as needed and delivers them to a picking bay. Two picking bays can be placed on different levels, so while one user removes parts from one drawer, the system can be finding and delivering another drawer to another user....more

The MegaLift Vertical Lift Module (VLM) from MegaStar Systems now offers Near and Far technology to increase productivity. With the Near and Far feature, items used most frequently are stored closest to the access opening for faster delivery and decreasing wait time. Near and Far technology works by tracking tray usage and user habit. The more the system is used the more intelligent the system becomes. The new Shuttle XP Vertical Lift Module (VLM) from Remstar operates at increased speeds by utilizing an industrial strength steel belted tooth belt drive. The design allows multiple points of fully engaged contact to provide increased weight, safety and total load capacity. The technology reduces ambient unit sound, unlike chains, rack and pinion or wires, because it makes use of the same concept relied upon in vehicle tires.
