The Pak-Man upender-inverter includes powered conveyor and micro-processor control for automatic operation. Actions include automatic loading, clamping 180-degree rotation, upending, opening and unloading in automated process-handling operations. The unit automatically loads large panels, doors, cabinets, stacks of sheet material, metal, paper or wood. Once lifted, the unit flips the load upside down or right-side up and discharges it. Standard deck size is 4 x 8 feet with a 6-inch high opening. Capacities of 2,000; 4,000; 6,000 and 10,000 pounds are available. Smaller
size units for upending boxes, containers or machine parts are offered....more

The Vertizilla Model 3600 vertical carousel increases deployment speed and reduces operator fatigue by bringing materials to the operator. Inside the unit, a series of carriers mounted on a vertical closed-loop track revolve. With carrier payload capacity of more than 1,000 pounds and load chains rated for 59,000 pounds, it is the supplier’s largest vertical carousel. Features include configurable multi-level carriers, convenient control location, touch bar and infrared photo eye safety devices, a full metal enclosure with key lock access, 7.5 horsepower direct drive gear motor, fluorescent task lighting and a heavy duty conveying mechanism with ball bearing load and guide wheels....more

Specifically for the footwear and apparel industries, an automated horizontal carousel handles residual and break-pack picking. The system uses the same track and chain mechanism found in the supplier’s other horizontal carousels, but incorporates a larger bin to hold bulky, lighter goods common in this sector. Features include a software module for wave order configuration to balance system output against outbound sorter capacity, including high-speed unit sorters with multiple induction stations....more

For fast and accurate multiple order batch picking, a mobile picking solution uses low-cost, wireless, infrared communications technology to enable light-directed picking from storage bays and simultaneous lightdirected putting to cart locations containing customer orders. The system integrates voice direction, Bluetooth-enabled bar code scanning, and light-directed picking/putting in a single system. Employing a cart-mounted PDA to control lights on picking bays and carts, the system initiates the picking process by reading a text file containing ticket data from the WMS....more

The QuickPick position indicator (QPi) light strip, for the supplier’s horizontal carousels, offers improved order picking speed, accuracy, storage density and reduced operator training. The light strip indicates order-picking information directly in front of the exact storage tote or container, rather than at the side. Moving vertically, the
QPi positions itself above or below shelf level and indicates the correct container by flashing arrows; it also shows tote position and quantity for up to 26 positions along the shelf face....more

Mounted on casters, a towable, portable vertical lift can be rolled into position to do the lifting usually handled by fork trucks. The lift rises up to 10 feet and handles a maximum of 1,000 pounds. Shipped pre-assembled, the units include gates and safety enclosures standard....more- 09/17/2007
The Intermat heavy-duty horizontal carousel stores large goods such as cylinders, beams, rolls, cable reels and tubes. Built to accommodate unique load and facility requirements, the carousel is available in a variety of models, including gantry/bridge crane, T-bridge, and serpentine....more- 11/13/2006
Wireless infrared technology allows the FastFetch light-directed picking system to provide fast and accurate batch picking without a substantial equipment information technology change. The system enables...more

In the nation’s capital, buses run night and day thanks to Atlantic Transportation (ATEL). The company is responsible for all of the maintenance and repair of over 29 new European-style Van Hool buses for the city of Washington, D.C. Keeping buses on the road is what drives their business, and when their buses are out of commission ATEL pays, literally based on their pay for performance contract. To repair buses quickly ATEL stores over 100,000 parts at their 70,000 square foot service and repair facility in Landover, MD. When designing the new facility, an efficient parts and storage area was at the top of their list....more

Diamond Phoenix has added two heavy-duty vertical products to its suite of order fulfillment technologies. The INTERMAT and TOWERMAT, offered through an agreement with INTERTEX of Germany, allow Diamond to provide automated storage and retrieval solutions to an even broader market. The INTERMAT Heavy-Duty Carousel is designed to store large specialized goods, such as cylinders, beams and cable reels. The INTERMAT is available in a variety of models, including gantry/bridge crane and T-bridge. The TOWERMAT Heavy-Duty Vertical Lift Module (VLM) is a tray delivery system for bar goods, sheet storage, pallet storage and other heavy items like molds and tool dies. Divisible carriers allow diverse materials to be stored within the same carrier, while still keeping them separate from one another....more

Diamond Phoenix offers two new models of the SMARTdepot Multi-bay Vertical Lift Module. The SMARTdepot "LX" is configured with a single delivery window. This window can be located within any of the two, three or four storage bays and/or on any floor. Because there is only one opening in the machine, storage space is increased. The second model, the SMARTdepot "Marquis," comes standard with a dual-delivery window configuration. The Marquis model allows two or more users to simultaneously access items from the same inventory....more

The Stanley Vidmar Vertical Lift Module Automated Storage and Retrieval System (VLM) gives users the organizational benefits of modular drawer storage, the space savings of an automated storage and retrieval system and the power and convenience of a Windows XP-based controller. The VLM is much more than a storage carousel. This vertical storage tower can hold as many as 240 drawers, and includes an elevator mechanism that fetches drawers as needed and delivers them to a picking bay. Two picking bays can be placed on different levels, so while one user removes parts from one drawer, the system can be finding and delivering another drawer to another user....more

The MegaLift Vertical Lift Module (VLM) from MegaStar Systems now offers Near and Far technology to increase productivity. With the Near and Far feature, items used most frequently are stored closest to the access opening for faster delivery and decreasing wait time. Near and Far technology works by tracking tray usage and user habit. The more the system is used the more intelligent the system becomes. For example, seasonal items are stored further away during off season, but will be stored closer to the access opening the more they are used, thus providing increased productivity....more
