The paperless, real-time order fulfillment PickCart with voice system merges batch picking with cart and voice-directed technology. The system is ideal for applications that require discrete order fulfillment of low to moderate volume split-case items. Carts include three or four shelves to accommodate shipping cartons or containers for multiple orders. Depending on product size, up to 40 orders can be held on one cart. Operators wear a voice terminal powered by the supplier’s PickDirector software that releases orders and directs picks along the most efficient path. The Indoor Collision Avoidance system for industrial vehicles reduces the number of accidents caused by collisions between automated guided vehicles and lift trucks. The system improves AGV route planning by incorporating knowledge of lift truck locations. AGVs, forklifts and other free-roaming and guided vehicles are equipped with the Sky-Trax Indoor Positioning System, which determines each vehicle’s position and broadcasts it to other vehicles in the network. Portec Pathfinder has introduced the PFT15 Tow Vehicle, which is designed for material transport in a variety of operations requiring loads up to 15,000 lbs. The PFT 15 consists of a durable chassis with state-of-the-art electronics for years of maintenance free operation. These medium-duty transporters appeal to a wider range of applications than the traditional more complex, custom-designed AGV. Smart Cart AGCs feature easier system implementation, simple operation, uncomplicated vehicle controls and instantaneous guidepath changes. SmartCart Automatic Guided Cart (AGC) Model 100 and Model 200 are streamlined, battery-operated carts that follow an on-floor magnetic strip guidepath. Path routing changes using the ordinary magnetic strip tape are simple and inexpensive.
