Batch picking without high costs

Wireless infrared technology allows the FastFetch light-directed picking system to provide fast and accurate batch picking without a substantial equipment information technology change. The system enables light-directed picking from storage bays and light-directed putting to cart locations containing customer orders. While not requiring a master computer to control storage lights, the software can add voice direction to picking systems where some locations are not lighted. Since the only computer needed for light control is a cart-mounted PDA, performance is not degraded if more lights and picking are added to the system.
