Automated system for less-than-full-case picking

For less-than-full-case picking, a new automated replenishment system ensures that pick faces are continuously restocked. For retail distribution and manufacturing, the system uses the supplier’s mini-load storage/retrieval machines to reduce manual labor by providing continuous, automated, demand-based replenishment to increase order fulfillment speed and accuracy. Dynamic slotting logic minimizes the number of flow lanes required to service orders, resulting in fewer flow lanes and shorter pick paths. The storage/retrieval machines automatically reconfigure pick faces on-demand as inventory changes. Both high-velocity and low-velocity items are handled by the same system.
