Batch picking on the go

For fast and accurate multiple order batch picking, a mobile picking solution uses low-cost, wireless, infrared communications technology to enable light-directed picking from storage bays and simultaneous lightdirected putting to cart locations containing customer orders. The system integrates voice direction, Bluetooth-enabled bar code scanning, and light-directed picking/putting in a single system. Employing a cart-mounted PDA to control lights on picking bays and carts, the system initiates the picking process by reading a text file containing ticket data from the WMS.
