Flexible Solutions for Doorways

Now Goff's brings this flexibility to doorways with the introduction of two new products. Goff's motorized Bug Blocking curtain door is an easy, economical way to allow the flow of cool air and sunlight through exterior doorways. While welcoming in fresh air this mesh curtain door protects the interior by keeping bugs, birds and intruders outside.

Yet this powered Bug Blocking curtain door enables the stream of traffic on busy docks. This capability is especially important in precision manufacturing or health-conscious processing operations. Additionally, the door diminishes radiant heat from the sun by 65%, allowing production employees to work comfortably and longer in non-air-conditioned plant space.

The door operates either by a standard hard-wired toggle, wireless remote, NEMA-1 or NEMA-4 wired or wireless controls and opens at speeds from 6 inches/sec. to 12 in./sec. The curtain glides along a custom vertical aluminum guide extrusion on low friction rollers for smooth motion, minimal wear and ease of installation. This enclosed track ensures the door keeps on rolling and doesn't blow from its door frame despite high windloads.

Other built-in features include:
• Fiberglass pultrusion tubes (horizontal stiffeners) that bend if impacted, but won't break or kink.
• The 11-oz. vinyl mesh curtain on the door is rot, tear and mildew resistant, standing up to the harshest weather. Resists all UV rays.
• All seams are double-locked stitched for extra strength.
• Double baffle under valence prevents pests from entering.

A 17 by 11 polyester scrim provides openings too small for insects to penetrate. But cool air and sunshine can, providing a no-cost form of comfort for employees.

This line of doors from 8 feet x 8 feet to 14 feet x 14 feet is suitable for rugged dock environments. On all Bug Blocking models the top valance panels, EPDM strips, and bottom floor sweep form a complete seal to provide excellent protection from insects, rodents, and birds. The "Double Baffle" valance panel ensures a tighter seal against unwanted insects while the front of the valance mounts to the building rather than to the curtain track, improving stability and creating a more rigid mount.

Goff's Power-Roll motorized roll-up door -- brings protection to all doorways. Fabric roll-up doors are high on the wish list for many operations where one room needs to be separated from another. Yet where there is only moderate doorway traffic flow the expensive price tag can turnoff buyers. This is where Power-Roll doors come in.

Goff's roll-up heavy-duty vinyl door costs significantly less than fabric roll-up doors, yet does the job of tightly sealing the doorway against debris, temperature differentials, positive/negative pressure, noise and threats to product quality, worker concentration or precision machinery. To provide this protection, the Goff's door has an array of high-quality features to provide service in rugged applications.

Crucial to the effectiveness of the barrier is the curtain. Goff's has applied their vast experience with flexible partitions in demanding industrial environments to provide a door curtain of tough 11-oz coated vinyl. This material meets NFPA 701 standards for flame retardancy, making it ideal for interior doorways. The 40-mil double polished window satisfies fire standards as well. For exterior doorways the vinyl stands up to the harshest weather. All seams are double lock stitched for extra strength.

For a tight seal the Goff's Power-Roll door has a double baffle under the valance. EPDM seals cover vertical edges and a soft bottom edge hugs floor contours.

An extruded aluminum side guide track further bolsters the door's sealing capabilities by trapping the smooth-operating rollers to prevent the door from blowing out of the opening. Fiberglass pultrusion tubes stitched into the curtain reinforce the seal and will not break or kink from sharp contact. If the door takes an impact from a vehicle, an easy-to-reset breakaway feature avoids damage to the curtain or the track.

Roll-up speed of six inches per second minimizes doorway exposure. If desired, the door can operate at an optional 12 inches/sec speed. A 110-volt motor guarded in the roll-up tube provides power for the door, operating on a 40% duty cycle. Goffs provides a number of control options to meet the needs of the operation.
