Custom Rack is Modular and Ultra-Sturdy

Durable gravity flow rack from Quixxsmart Structures® provides flexible and efficient FIFO inventory control for point-of-use JIT assembly operations. The flow rack delivers over two times the strength of competitive offerings, translating into higher weight capacities. Standard racks measure 5-ft. wide X 3-ft. deep X 5-ft. high. Incomparably sturdy, the rack is comprised of rugged 16-gauge steel tubing with tube wall thickness over twice that of typical flow racks of the same size. Pivoting stamped steel fittings ensure structural integrity for securing angled armatures. Zinc coating resists corrosion, prolonging durability. Three height adjustable shelf units made of steel carry loads without warping. Total-locking casters with rollers of high impact nylon provide complete rack mobility for quick changeovers and restocks. Gravity flow racks are available with a wide variety of options to suit specific customer requirements including rack sizes, number of shelves, roller guides, tracks and total-lock casters in a variety of styles. Racks are available in a variety of colors with powder coat finish for added durability and color identification. Heavy-duty part storage bins in multiple sizes and colors further enhance part identification. Assembly is fast and easy with a 3/16-inch hex key and 7/16-inch wrench. Fittings attach to the steel tubing with 1-1/8-inch socket head cap screws. Racks are delivered fully assembled or shipped in kit form for easy assembly.

Design Custom JIT Handling Systems With Quixxstart Kits

Quixxsmart Stuctures, Inc. offers the Quixxstart™ Kit for creating custom JIT material part handling operations. The most versatile system on the market, the Quixxstart Kit features easy-to-assemble components, allowing for an infinite number of configurations including carts, racks, workstations and flow racks. The inherent modularity of the system allows for recycling of components to address application changes. Systems are readily expandable with additional components and accessories. Simple assembly with a 3/16-inch hex key saves time and costs when reconfiguring systems to meet evolving application needs. Available in two levels of sophistication, kit component integration meets virtually any part handling requirement. Featured components include rugged stainless steel tubing (1.025-inch diameter zinc coated) in 12-ft. lengths with a variety of tube fitting styles to ensure design flexibility. Heavy-duty nylon roller tracks include standard 33mm spaced-pallets X 3m, 50mm X 3m and flanged styles with mounting brackets in both flow and stop styles. Total-lock casters are available in a variety of styles. Kits are available from stock for quick delivery.

Modular Flow Rack Provides Storage for JIT Part Retrieval

Material handling flow rack is designed for point of use parts storage and simplified order picking. Configured with Quixxsmart components, the rack unit is over two times stronger than competitor offerings to easily withstand high volume operations. Providing a systematic approach for JIT part storage and retrieval, the gravity flow rack streamlines operations by eliminating wasteful stock room part exchanges. Complete component modularity allows for quick easy custom set-ups and changes. Fully adjustable, racks provide ergonomic comfort. Rack components consist of tubing, fittings, and roller track assemblies. Tubing of 16-gauge steel X 1.062-inch OD tubing has over two times the wall thickness providing maximum strength and corrosion resistance. Standard tube lengths are available in single foot increments up to 3.0 meters.

Modular Power Drive System

Quixxsmart Structures, Inc. announces a new modular Power Drive System designed for automated parts delivery along fully adjustable assembly lines used in lean manufacturing environments. The system operates as a stand-alone unit or easily integrates with Quixxsmart workstations, flow racks and part presentation carts. The system provides operator-determined, variable speed automated workflow control, serving as a cost-effective alternative to traditional gravity-fed, worker-controlled part delivery. Automating parts advancement through the assembly line saves time and frees worker hands to perform other assembly tasks. The Power Drive System is constructed from heavy gauge 28-mm x 1-mm thick steel tubing and bonded plastic-coated jacket for durability. Tubing is easily joined with a series of steel fittings, creating a stable structure. Powered by a variable speed, 24Vdc fractional HP motor, containers and bins are driven along the center track guided by a circular urethane friction belt and two semi-circular groves of rollers positioned in aluminum roller tracks.

Ergonomic Quick-Tilt™ Shelf

A new Quick-Tilt™ shelf is the latest addition to the Quixxsmart modular component system for creating carts, racks, workstations and flowracks in assembly operations. The new shelf option maximizes picking efficiency through improved ergonomic small part positioning. The Quick-Tilt shelf optimizes picking functions with manual adjustment in a single forward and down movement without tools. The forward position effectively reduces reach and the tilt position improves visual part presentation. Better ergonomic part presentation provides optimal comfort, reducing opportunity for repeat trauma injury. Quick-Tilt shelves complement Quixxsmart modular racks and workstations, holding up to 100 lbs. for high volume situations. Adjustment of shelves requires no tools, making initial setups simple.
