Responding to increased demand for sustainable packaging alternatives—and to support sustainability initiatives—Sealed Air (Booth 2709) launched the three foam lines made of recycled resin yesterday: EthafoamMRC (with 100% pre-consumer content), Ethafoam HRC (with 65% recycled content), and Stratocell RC (with 60% content) foams.
Following a formal ribbon cutting, Modex 2012 opened for business at 10 a.m.

TGW Systems (Booth 4307) has implemented several installations of its Stingray automated storage and retrieval shuttle solution since its introduction in 2011, said John Clark, director of marketing.
In a press conference yesterday, Sapient Automation (Booth 1000) unveiled a new automatic tray height scanning system and redesigned tray configuration in the Viper vertical lift module (VLM). The enhancements provide 50% more storage density, said Ed Romaine, chief marketing officer for Sapient.
Tomorrow at the show, students of engineering, technology, manufacturing, operations, supply chain and logistics will experience first-hand the latest technologies and solutions as they tour the Modex show floor as part of the Material Handling Logistics Classroom Day.

Kiva Systems (Booth 2500) announced it has implemented and met the standards for ISO 9001 certification, encompassing the areas of solution design, testing, manufacturing, consulting, services delivery and technology support of software, firmware and hardware.
To round out its line of automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), Kardex Remstar (Booth 2914) is showcasing the Element vertical lift module and the Megamat RS vertical carousel.
