June retail sales see gains, report Commerce and NRF
Commerce reported that June retail sales, at $519.9 billion, were up 0.4% compared to May and up 3.4% compared to June 2018. NRF reported that June retail sales were up 0.6% in June on a seasonally-adjusted basis compared to May, and up 2.3% annually on an unadjusted basis.

Commerce and NRF data show gains for May retail sales
Commerce reported that May retail sales, at $519.0 billion, were up 0.5% compared to April and up 3.2% annually. NRF reported that May retail sales were up 0.5% in May on a seasonally-adjusted basis compared to April, and up 3.2% annually on an unadjusted basis.

Commerce and NRF report February retail sales gains
Commerce reported that January retail sales, at $506 billion, slipped 0.2% compared to January and rose 2.2% annually.

Retail sales slip in December to finish 2018 but see annual gains
December retail sales were down 1.2% compared to November, but Commerce reported they were up 2.3% compared to December 2017. Total 2018 retail sales were up 5%.

NRF issues positive 2018 holiday retail sales forecast
These sales, as defined by the NRF, are sales in the months of November and December and exclude autos, gas, and restaurant sales. For 2017, NRF is calling for holiday retail sales to be up 3.6%-4% annually, coming in at an estimated total between $678.75 billion to $682 billion, which is ahead of last year’s $655.8 billion, even at the lower end of the 2017 estimate.

Commerce, NRF report solid January retail sales
Commerce reported that January retail sales were up 0.2 percent compared to December and saw a 5.6 percent annual gain at $472.1 billion. The NRF reported that retail sales, excluding automobiles, gas stations, and restaurants, headed up 3.8 percent annually in January and were up 0.4 percent on a seasonally-adjusted basis compared to a very strong December.

NRF calls for 3.7 to 4.2 percent annual increase for 2017 retail sales
The NRF is calling for 2017 online and other non-store/online sales (which NRF includes in its over all number) to head up between 8 and 12 percent.

November retail sales see modest sequential gains and stronger annual increase
Commerce reported that November retail sales were up 0.1% over October, following a 0.6 percent increase from September to October, at $465.5 billion.

Retail sales see bounce back from August to September, says Commerce and NRF
Following a decline in August, retail sales rebounded in September, according to data issued today by the United States Department of Commerce and the National Retail Federation (NRF).

NRF calls for 3.6 percent annual increase for holiday season retail sales
Sales in the months of November and December, excluding autos, gas, and restaurant sales, to reach $655.8 million.

August retail sales down from July and up annually
Department of Commerce and NRF report August retail sales dropped 0.3% compared to July at $456.3 billion and were up 1.9% annually.
