Datalogic consolidation complete

Datalogic S.p.A., a global leader in automatic identification and total solutions provider of bar code readers, data collection mobile computers, RFID and vision systems, has announced the full integration of Datalogic Automation, Accu-Sort Systems and PPT Vision.

Datalogic S.p.A., a global leader in automatic identification and total solutions provider of bar code readers, data collection mobile computers, RFID and vision systems, has announced the full integration of Datalogic Automation, Accu-Sort Systems and PPT Vision to form a single entity set to elevate the group’s global position in the industrial automation market.

This strategic development within Datalogic Group follows the recent acquisitions of both PPT Vision and Accu-Sort Systems, which instantly doubled Datalogic’s presence in the Industrial Automation market. The integration also confirms the company’s vision to attain a global leadership in this sector, by delivering high quality, innovative products and distinct solutions.

Under the leadership of Gian Paolo Fedrigo, CEO of Datalogic Automation, the three companies and their previously separate teams are now combined to form a brand new organization – single in purpose – which emerges as a world-class provider of products and solutions for material handling, traceability, inspection and detection in industrial automation. Leveraging on the resulting extended innovation capabilities and improved operations means a stronger ability for the company to provide more valuable services, solutions and support to customers.

The new organization’s goal is to capitalize on the three formerly separate companies combined skills to grow in selected target markets: in North America, enhancing Datalogic Automation’s presence in the Factory Automation market; in Europe, leveraging a new enlarged solution portfolio and expertise in Transportation & Logistics; and in Asia, where the company is poised to exploit the great market potential in both these target markets. Furthermore, a new and enlarged combined sales team will increase Datalogic’s presence and expand its reach in the Industrial Automation sector, while enhancing channel capabilities to further penetrate the market.

“This new evolution within the Group once more demonstrates Datalogic’s commitment to a maintained growth strategy and significantly boosts our competitiveness. By leveraging best practices and best talents from Accu-Sort Systems, PPT Vision and the entire Datalogic Group, our customers continue to benefit from superior client relationships with one reference point for the most complete range of automatic identification solutions in the Industrial Automation market” said Datalogic Group CEO, Mauro Sacchetto.

In real terms, Datalogic Automation’s world-class solutions for traceability, inspection and detection in manufacturing and logistic processes and its comprehensive product portfolio for shop floor and automatic warehousing applications, are now further enriched through this consolidation: Accu-Sort’s products and expertise in the design, production, integration and maintenance of Automatic Identification (Auto-ID) and material handling solutions and PPT Vision’s product and solution portfolio for the fast growing Machine Vision market, complement the entire Industrial Automation solutions offering.

The new single entity will operate under the name of Datalogic Automation, retaining the Accu-Sort and PPT Vision brand values in key reference markets, through four Business Units: Transportation & Logistics, Factory Automation, Machine Vision and Laser Marking. These will be primarily responsible for R&D, product and solutions development, product management, industry marketing, applications and custom engineering as well as second level technical support.

Underpinning these strategic management and business development functions is a single, integrated worldwide sales operation defined by industry, market and geographic region, ensuring a highly specialized customer focus in order to create lasting value for Datalogic Automation’s new global footprint.
