The College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) recently announced the winners of the 2010 Outstanding Material Handling & Facility Logistics Research Paper Award. The announcement was made during MHIA’s annual membership meeting earlier this month.

The 2010 award is based on papers published during the 2008 and 2009 calendar years. This award was developed by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) and CICMHE to encourage the development of, and recognize excellence in, materials handling research.

The competition is open to any active researchers and educators in the field of materials handling and facility logistics from engineering, business, and other allied schools or colleges.

MHIA and CICMHE are interested in groundbreaking papers in a broad sense on materials handling in the fields of manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, supply chain, and logistics. Papers published in scientific journals, proceedings of scientific events (conferences, workshops, etc.) and as chapters of edited books are eligible. A mix of academic and industry judges evaluate the contributions based on educational value, innovation in research methodology and contribution to the industry.
