Easy-on, easy-off front panel.  That’s just one of three unique features on the new Thor vehicle-mount computer, unveiled Tuesday by LXE (Booth 4268) at a press conference.

Thor’s new features include a field-replaceable, water-resistant front panel that can be changed in minutes with a screwdriver, a quick-mount smart-dock that allows the computer to removed with one hand and is easily transferred between forklifts or to IT for software updates, and an ignition control function that enables the computer to start with the forklift ignition, saving the operator an extra step.

These innovations are designed to enhance uptime and improve the user’s bottom line.  Bill Roeder, LXE’s vice president of product management, said he believes the introduction of the Thor vehicle-mount computer technology will “turn the industry on its ear.”

ProMat 2011 will be held March 21 - 24, 2011 at McCormick Place South in Chicago. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry.
