Modex 2012: 4SIGHT solution keeps an eye on yard and dock operations

As the old saying goes, forewarned is forearmed. That’s why 4Front Engineered Solutions (Booth 209) brought its new 4SIGHT yard and dock management system to Modex 2012.

4SIGHT provides operations with the information they need to monitor, schedule and communicate trailer movement, load assignments and loading dock status in an easy-to-use interface. It combines RFID, GPS and a variety of sensor technologies to provide real-time yard and loading dock visibility, automation and optimization from the time an inbound truck approaches the gate until it exits the outbound gate.

The system’s event management capabilities and alerts improve coordination and turn time while allowing a facility to maintain dock equipment based on actual usage. According to Eric Breen, sales manager, 4Front knows how dock people walk and talk and what they need, so that’s what was built into the system.
