Responding to increased demand for sustainable packaging alternatives—and to support sustainability initiatives—Sealed Air (Booth 2709) launched the three foam lines made of recycled resin yesterday: EthafoamMRC (with 100% pre-consumer content), Ethafoam HRC (with 65% recycled content), and Stratocell RC (with 60% content) foams.
The lines are ideal for packaging and shipping products such as electronics, automotive parts and hardware.
Comprised of finer cell polyethylene, Ethafoam Synergy foam features lower abrasion risk and is offered in a variety of colors for improved aesthetic appeal. Useful for applications including case insert, tool control and automotive dunnage, the foam is made of non-crosslinked polyethylene material for improved sustainability and simplified fabrication. It also has anti-static properties for use with sensitive electronics.
Cellu-Cushion Excell specialty foam also debuted. Developed with die-cut technology, the foam features a pattern of apertures that allows it to expand to twice its original width while enhancing the foam’s cushioning properties. Classified as a number four low-density polyethylene (LDPE) material, it can also be recycled.
