Over the past 45 years, Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. has built a national brand as the place where pets and their owners go, helping more animals to live long and happy lives. Today, the San Diego-based retailer has a footprint in all 50 states, with more than 1,000 stores and a growing e-commerce business.

To support the company’s growth, Petco partnered with TGW Systems to design and implement the materials handling system in its new 506,000 square foot distribution center (DC) in Braselton, Ga. The facility, which went live in June 2008, services 237 stores in 13 states in the Southeastern and Southwestern U.S.

Ecommerce and multi-channel retailing are changing perceptions about automation

NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc. (NMHG) presented a $6,250 check to United Way of Pitt County during the East Carolina University (ECU) baseball game versus High Point University on Tuesday, May 15. The donation was given for every homerun hit this season by the Pirates, who pounded 25 homeruns.

It is true that electric lift trucks are not suitable for every application. Throughout the past decade, however, there have been a number of changes in the lift truck industry and the material handling work environment that have been beneficial for the electric lift truck and advanced its opportunities.

NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc. (NMHG), in cooperation with its local dealer, Papé Material Handling in Portland, has donated one of its Hyster electric reach trucks to the Portland Art Museum.
