Replaceable bearing rolls up savings

Conveyor Systems & Engineering (Booth 3959) has come up with a replacement conveyor bearing that could cut the cost of replacement parts by up to 60%, said Peter Zuiko, company president.

The replaceable bearing fits rollers of various sizes and materials, and features a threaded housing and integrated tightening tool for quick replacement without special tools. The product eliminates the cost of replacing entire rollers to get fresh bearings, and also cuts disposal and recycling cost. “It will significantly reduce the cost of replacement parts such as the rollers,” said Zuiko.

Volume availability is slated for June. Zuiko said the units are of high interest to large warehouses looking to slash the cost of roller replacement, which can exceed $1 million annually, and also to conveyor equipment manufacturers.
