To help companies receive the wide variety of trailers and containers arriving at the dock, Rite-Hite (Booth 1827) is showcasing the Dok-Lok SHR-5000 restraint.
“With today’s global economy, shipments arrive in traditional trailers, intermodal containers and trailers with rear-impact guard (RIG) obstructions,” explained Troy Bergum, product manager. “This new restraint uses a patented, universal ‘shadow hook’ to secure any type of trailer configuration or size—including intermodal chassis.”
In addition to securing the trailer to the dock for protection of workers entering and exiting it, the device serves as a visual deterrent against cargo theft. “It can also physically tie into a building’s security system,” added Bergum.
Also displayed, the Dok-Commander package integrates and powers a variety of equipment at each dock position, including a vehicle restraint, leveler, door and light. Engineered to withstand harsh environments, the system streamlines electrical controls with an interlock feature that ensures equipment is engaged in the proper sequence, he said.
