Singapore’s star rising

Underlying the plan to acquire NOL's maritime assets, CMA CGM attaches significant importance to Singapore and the region for the deployment of its strategy in Asia.

CMA CGM is looking forward to welcoming APL into Euro-centric world and intends to retain and develop the APL brand and leverage it to build its presence in the Asia Pacific.

Underlying the plan to acquire NOL’s maritime assets, CMA CGM attaches significant importance to Singapore and the region for the deployment of its strategy in Asia.

The combined entity would reinforce the mega port’s leadership in the maritime and shipping sector as the city-state seeks to increase container services and transportation volumes, including committing more volumes through this vital ocean cargo gateway.

CMA CGM will also contribute to reinforce Singapore as a center of excellence in the field of maritime activities as CMA CGM plans to use the mega port as a key hub in Asia.

In this regard, CMA CGM plans to establish its regional head office here. This consolidation of CMA CGM’s here aims at providing more immediate attention to shippers in the region.

With the new generation of mega vessels being introduced over the next several years, the time could not be better for this deep-water port and the point-to-point destinations it serves.
