Webcast: The Future of Materials Handling: America Has Talent - Will it Work for you?
America Has Talent. Will it work for you?
Finding talent to work in materials handling jobs is one thing. Keeping and growing it is another. That’s a major concern of companies in the know, and they’re doing something about it. Modern Materials Handling will present a panel discussion on these strategies on September 30th at 1 pm.
Jim Tompkins, an internationally-known supply chain consultant, will explain how the “talent constraint” is threatening future labor availability inside and outside America. He’ll also offer examples of how supply chain champions are addressing the issue.
Kevin Gue, Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Auburn University, will discuss his ongoing research to make distribution centers a more attractive environment for workers.
Brian Eddy, a director at SubCon Industries, a division of The Rehabilitation Center in Olean, NY, will explain why the disabled among us represent some of the most productive and loyal workers in a distribution environment. He’ll also tell which companies are making best use of that talent.
