Lift Truck Buyer Satisfaction Survey: What Buyers Want

Few companies could function without lift trucks. However, some use this equipment better than others because their operators have mastered the art of balancing productivity and safety. That’s usually because there was an effective teaming between the operator’s management and the lift truck’s provider, whether that’s a dealer or the OEM. But what about those others? The ones that need more help achieving an ROI from their lift truck investment?
Modern Materials Handling wanted to find out what lift truck buyers expect to get from their purchase. We conducted our first Lift Truck Buyer Satisfaction Survey and found out:
96% see reliability and uptime as the most important aspects of performance;
90% said parts availability was key to service;
91% said safety features were the most important design elements.
But do these end users REALLY get what they want?
Join Modern’s editor in chief, Tom Andel, as he leads a discussion about the complete results of our exclusive study. We’ll not only discuss the highlights of this research, but we’ll go behind the numbers and analyze the most common—and some uncommon—mistakes operators make when trying to get these mechanical workhorses to do their bidding.
In addition to the insights of Judd Aschenbrand, the lead researcher on our study, two leading authorities on safe and effective lift truck operations will share their stories of best practices and worst nightmares. They are:
Ken Van Hook, President , Safe-T-Consultants Inc.
Jim Shephard, President, Shephard’s Industrial Training Systems
Join us for an enlightening and lively discussion of the promise and the delivery of lift truck value and productivity.
