Airpack acquires Pregis Corp.’s European operations

News follows an earlier announcement that a private equity firm has acquired Pregis' North American business.

Airpack, S.p.A, Lodi, Italy, has acquired Pregis Corporation’s European protective packaging operations for an undisclosed amount.

Airpack had purchased Pregis’ Italian operations in 2012. This acquisition is part of Airpack’s strategy to increase its European footprint, and follows an earlier announcement that a private equity firm has acquired Pregis’ North American business.

“We are pleased to be able to reunite the Italian business unit with the rest of the European operations,” said Sergio Folli, managing director of Airpack. “We now will have the support of more than 1,000 employees who will assist us in providing protective packaging solutions to the United Kingdom and across the entire European continent.”

The acquisition includes Pregis operations in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. Manufacturing capabilities include foam and bubble extrusion, engineered foam and mailers.

“Pregis’ European operation is staffed by knowledgeable professionals with decades of experience in protective packaging solutions,” said Kevin Baudhuin, president and chief executive officer, Pregis. “This customer-focused group will continue to engineer solutions that create value and exceed expectations within the markets served.”
