Blume Global launches “Next Generation Solutions” for motor carriers

Blume Global announced at  Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) annual event in Long Beach this week that it has launched Blume CarrierGo. 

This solution, based on a single platform, is created for global drayage motor carrier companies and their drivers. The Blume CarrierGo platform and mobile application is designed to create operational efficiency, better fleet utilization and freight queuing. I may also  improve shipper service and add considerable positive financial impact for motor carrier companies around the world by directly connecting proof of delivery, invoicing and financial settlement processes.

Blume CarrierGo is a solution for motor carriers to effectively manage their end-to-end business operations, from accessing new business, managing orders and tendering loads, to handling rates and invoices. It is a transportation execution system that enables communication between motor carriers and their LSP, ocean carrier and shipper customers. It also improves visibility and transparency across global supply chains. 

Motor carriers around the world continue to rely on paper-based, manual processes to accept or reject, execute and invoice bookings, preventing motor carriers from maximizing business opportunities, ensuring maximum utilization of drivers and collecting payment with minimal disputes. 

Glenn Jones, global vice president of product strategy, told SCMR in an interview that drayage carriers will be the first to recognize the advantages of CarrierGo. Logistics Service Providers and shippers leveraging drayage carriers using it  will also benefit via improved visibility, reduced tender rejects and more carrier participants in the spot market,” 

“For example, a BCO or LSP will contract with a drayage carrier to pickup an marine/ISO container at a marine terminal and deliver to a distribution center locating in the same state,” he said. “The carrier will be responsible for coordinating pickup time at the marine terminal and drop-off time at the DC. The consignee (receiver of goods at the DC) will schedule dock door and labor resources to unload the container upon arrival. If the carrier is delayed during the pickup or in route to the DC, the consignee will know this and be able to better manage the DC resources."
