Booklet Shows How to Cut On-the-Job Injury, Boost Productivity and Efficiency

This colorful booklet from Southworth shows that improving job safety is more than just preventing accidents.

This colorful, booklet from Southworth shows that improving job safety is more than just preventing accidents. Injuries also result from work that requires repetitive stretching, bending, and lifting.

Over 35% of all injury claims are related to back problems. When the inefficiencies and work procedures that cause injuries are corrected, the benefits are not only increased worker safety but also increased productivity.

In a highly readable style, the booklet presents a tour of a manufacturing operation, shipping room, and warehouse. As workers perform their jobs, a safety expert points out those tasks with potential for injury.

He notes that repetitive lifting of even a lightweight work piece can add up to tons lifted per shift. Machine feeding, order picking, and pallet handling are only a few of the jobs made safer and more efficient with the use of inexpensive mechanical handling equipment.
