The United States Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported this week that the average price per gallon of diesel gasoline dipped 2 cents to $3.007 per gallon.
Despite the decline, this marks the seventh straight week that the diesel average has topped the $3 per gallon mark, with the previous six weeks going back to the week of January 15 coming in at $3.027, $3.063, $3.086, $3.07, $3.025, and $3.028, respectively.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is up 43 cents.
The average price per gallon of West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is trading at $63.91 per barrel, which is up from $61.90 last week.
