A new mobile app from Hytrol Conveyor Co. (Booth 7434) gives customers better, more efficient access to information about their automated materials handling solutions, Phillip Poston, Hytrol’s manager of marketing, said at booth press conference Monday afternoon.
The app, called “Toolbox,” allows users to scan serial number information on systems, create parts “wish lists,” perform order searches, export wish lists, and look up manuals. The app is currently available for iOS/iPhone and Windows Phone platforms and will be available on Android in the third quarter.
Using the apps is more efficient and timely for users than writing information down on paper and returning to an office, and more practical than lugging a laptop in a warehouse environment. The end result is an increased level of information access for end users, said Poston. “We know knowledge is power,” said Poston, who added that Toolbox is a way to convey this knowledge “easily and all in one place.”
Hytrol also demonstrated an upcoming mobile app called “Genesis” that with a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the communications port for a material handling system will support configuration functions on the app. The Hytrol Genesis app is slated for availability in the fourth quarter.
