More than 950 exhibitors and a large crowd of conference attendees converged at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) to officially open Modex 2020 on Monday morning.
With the safety and security of exhibitors and attendees as a paramount consideration, event producer MHI has taken the necessary precautions in light of the COVID-19 coronavirus. While some international exhibitors and attendees were impacted by COVID-19 due to travel restrictions—and several exhibitors opted not to attend—overall, the “expected cancellations of attendees will have a limited impact on the show,” MHI stated.
The event takes place in one large, newly renovated exhibition hall on a single floor at GWCC. The added 100,000 square feet of space in Hall B (which is now connected to Hall C), for a total of 370,000 net square feet in one contiguous hall.
Other key changes this year included relocating the event’s main theatre complex, moving The Networking Lounge to the right side of the exhibition hall, locating the IoT Emerging Tech Theaters to the left, and putting the Transportation Logistics and RPA Theatres in the C Hall.
The conference features more than 150 show floor educational seminars on leading trends, best practices and state-of-the-art equipment and technology solutions that can make manufacturing and the entire supply chain work more efficiently and profitably.
The show’s exhibits represent all segments of the materials handling, logistics and transportation industry—from traditional, manual equipment to computerized, automated systems and smart, connected supply chain technologies.
Modex 2020 is scheduled to be held March 9-12 at Georgia’s World Congress Center in Atlanta. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the materials handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete coverage of the show.
