November U.S.-bound imports are solid, reports Panjiva
November shipments were up 3.9% annually to 979,797 topping October’s 1,016,892. Import volumes have been up for nine consecutive months and 16 of the past 17 months. In 2017, U.S.-bound shipments have been up every month except for February.

October imports turn in strong performance, reports Panjiva
October shipments rose 3.2% annually to 1,016,892, ahead of September’s 976,605, the eighth consecutive month of growth.

United States-bound waterborne imports had a strong end-of-the-year finish, according to data issued by Panjiva, an online search engine with detailed information on global suppliers and manufacturers. December shipments––at 928,535––were up 8.9 percent annually and up 0.3 percent compared to November’s 926,198. The busiest month of 2016 was August, which eclipsed the 1 million shipment mark.

Panjiva reports October shipment growth
October shipments––at 982,387––were up 5.6 percent compared to September and up 7.4 percent annually for its fastest pace since February, as well as marking the fourth straight month of import growth.

September import levels remain on solid footing, reports Panjiva
September shipments––at 927,600––were up 1.3 percent annually and down 11.2 percent compared to August’s 1,042,942 which marked the first time shipments for a single month have eclipsed the 1 million mark since Panjiva first began collecting this data in July 2007.

Following a strong growth month for United States-bound waterborne shipments in July, August picked up where July left off and then some, according to recent data issued by Panjiva.

Panjiva reports import growth is back on track in July
July shipments–at 974,489-were up 2.2 percent annually and up 4.6 percent compared to June, due primarily to growth from the European Union (shipments up 5.7 percent) and China (up 4.8 percent), which were aided by the strong dollar, coupled with furniture (up 6.7 percent) and toys (up 10.3 percent) shipments both seeing gains.

Panjiva reports May has a bounce back month for global trade activity
Shipment figures marked the best ever month for May going back to 2007, as well as the highest monthly shipment level since August 2015.

Panjiva State of Trade report points to lower optimism in 2016
Less than half of survey respondents -- down 20% over three years -- are optimistic about prospects for global trade.
