They are available for door sizes of 8” x 8’, 8’ x 9’, 8’ x 10’, 9’ x 10’ and 10’ wide x 10’ high. Non Standard Door Sizes can be accommodated with a special seal sizes. Door Seals are available for trucks and rail cars locations.
Door seal pad thicknesses are available as 10” and 20” projection, prior to compression. Dock Shelters are designed with an adjustable head and side curtain and available with an 18”, 24”, 30” and 36” projection. Material available for Seals are Vinyl coated Nylon, Hypalon coated Nylon and Neoprene Coated Nylon, while Shelters are available with 40 oz Vinyl Coated Nylon.
High grade materials are used throughout the manufacturing process. Solid foam is used, not particle foam. Particle foam can break down faster, resulting in a worn out door seal. Solid wood backing is used, not particle wood. Particle wood can break down faster. The seal backboard frame is incased by the material creating a water resistant design for a longer lasting seal and a greater product life.
Air pockets are incorporated to allow the seal to breathe when the truck hits the seal to keep the foam from blowing up the pad. The air pockets are placed in strategic locations to allow the forced air to rush out. Beacon utilizes air ram pockets and not screens that can get clogged up over time.
The approach to a loading dock area is an important aspect when choosing the appropriate Seal projection. A tapered Seal may be needed if the driveway slopes up or down. The slope can have an influence on the truck lining up with the door seal, thus affecting compression. Survey sheets can be provided to identify the degree of slope from of the driveway in front of the dock.
Dock Door Metal Hoods are available to provide overhead protection from rain, snow and ice. Placement of a Hood is mounted to the building structure above the Dock Seal. Dock Hoods are designed to have a projection protruding past the seal for greater protection.
Beacon ® was requested for the task and continues to provide Dock Door Seals to a leading national tool supply house, Event ID 11718, as it does with many companies.
