Beumer announces new linear sorter, showcases e-commerce distribution solutions

Expanding on its portfolio of loop sorters, Beumer (Booth 4137) has released the new Rota-Sorter, a linear solution capable of handling a variety of items.

Expanding on its portfolio of loop sorters, Beumer (Booth 4137) has released the new Rota-Sorter, a linear solution capable of handling a variety of items.

The new sorter can sort a vast range of items—from envelopes 0.2 inches thick to 70-pound 47 x 25 x 25-inch parcels—on a single line at rates up to 6,000 parcels per hour. The sorter’s discharge technology allows for gentle handling and offers high energy efficiency with very few moving parts and easy serviceability. The low-cost sorter can be expanded to up to three lines arranged above each other, achieving a maximum capacity of more than 15,000 items per hour.

Because of the sinusoidal velocity curve of its discharge movement, items are handled carefully and the sorter returns to its ready position every half turn. Discharge systems can be mounted anywhere on the outside of the sorter and can be moved or added at any time.

“Amid the increasing sophistication of warehouse environments, our customers have asked for simple solutions for complex requirements,” said Sebastian Titze, marketing insights and strategy manager for Beumer. “This is a new solution for us, but based on proven parcel-handling technology.”

Modex 2016 is scheduled to be held April 4-7, 2016 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Conference Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex coverage.
