Crown Equipment continues European expansion

Forklift manufacturer will open new facilities in Spain to coordinate business activities and serve as a technical and sales support center for the rapidly expanding customer support network.

Crown Equipment Corporation, one of the world’s leading forklift manufacturers, today announced further expansion in the European market with its first company-owned branch location and administrative offices in Spain. The facilities represent a successful effort by the company to firmly establish a direct sales and service operation to support growing customer demand in the country.

The new Crown office in Madrid will coordinate all business activities within Spain. It will also serve as a technical and sales support center for the company’s rapidly expanding customer support network across the country. The office location will work closely with the new company-owned branch in Valencia to establish and maintain an in-country team of factory-trained technicians. Initially, the technicians will cover locations including Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza, Murcia and San Sebastian with further expansion planned.

“Spain represents the fifth largest market in Western Europe as well as an important region for Crown,” said Ken Dufford, vice president, Crown Equipment in Europe. “We are delighted with our expansion in the country with so many new models and a distribution network that will open up many new opportunities to enhance existing and develop new customer relationships. This is an exciting time for Crown in Europe.”

Crown currently operates a global distribution and service network that includes more than 70 company-owned retail dealerships and more than 300 independent dealerships worldwide.
