CSCMP to honor two up-and-coming supply chain professionals with Emerging Leader Award

Award was created to recognize supply chain management and logistics professionals age 30 and under.


The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) announced the selection of Susan Conley, program specialist at Caterpillar, Inc., and Mengxiao (Michelle) Zhang, team lead, Lean Logistics and Operations at LeanCor Supply Chain Group, as the recipients of its Emerging Leader Award.

Conley and Zhang will be recognized during the Opening General Session of CSCMP’s Annual Global Conference, Monday, September 22, 2014. The two winners will also participate in a panel session in the Young Professionals’ Track held at the event. In addition, they will be featured in various organization publications, the CSCMP membership newsletter, and the Young Professionals e-bulletin.

“The future of our industry lies with today’s young professionals who will be tomorrow’s leaders,” said Rick Blasgen, CSCMP president and chief executive officer. “It is important that we recognize the contributions of emerging talent and the positive impact they have on our profession today and will continue to have in the future.”

The CSCMP Emerging Leader Award was created to recognize outstanding supply chain management and logistics professionals, age 30 and under, for their contributions to and future influence on these two industries.
