Dematic (Booth 3603) introduced RapidPick, a new high capacity goods-to-person order fulfillment system that brings split case items to an operator and allows pick rates of up to 1,000 items per hour.
“We design our products to lower the overall cost of operating,” said John Baysore, president and CEO of Dematic North America. “That is evident in the RapidPick, which combines an ergonomic picking environment for the operator with the ability to deliver product in the desired sequence for extremely accurate order assembly.”
Items to be picked are delivered from a mini-load storage system or from an inventory staging buffer. At the workstation, the operator can raise or lower the picking platform to accommodate operators of various heights, including operators in wheel chairs. Simple, icon-driven operator color displays use large fonts and images to indicate the quantity of items to be picked.
The system can be designed to fill one order from a tote at a time or expanded to fill six or more orders at a time from a single tote.
