Throughout Modex week, Exotec (Booth B4204) is exhibiting its Skypod system, an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS).
Completely modular, the AS/RS features autonomous mobile robots that enable users to process the orders they must deliver to customers first, leading to increased efficiency. For further productivity, the Skypod robots can transport goods between high-density storage racks and ergonomic picking stations.
Operations can increase their warehouse throughput by up to five times, while reducing their SKU response times to 2 minutes or less. The AS/RS can travel up to 13 feet per second, move in three dimensions, climb up to 39 feet and retrieve any bins or trays that are stored inside.
“Our solutions have had a tremendous impact on the daily work of millions of warehouse operators,” said Arjun Khurana, VP of global marketing at Exotec. “For example, as of last June, the Skypod system has saved warehouse workers from walking around 18 million miles.”
He added, “Not to mention, it has significantly reduced their need to lift heavy objects in their warehouses. As a result, their risk of injuries will decrease, while their productivity will rise.”
