Modex 2014: MHI welcomes you to the show

Modex 2014 will be four days of non-stop solutions for your manufacturing and supply chain operations.

As chairman of MHI and on behalf of our officers and members, it is my privilege to welcome you to Modex 2014—the Greatest Supply Chain Show on Earth.

Modex 2014 will be four days of non-stop solutions for your manufacturing and supply chain operations. I am pleased to tell you that Supply Chain & Transportation USA (SCT) is co-locating with Modex 2014. In addition to the Modex exhibits and educational offerings this week, SCT will include exhibits and education sessions located in a dedicated area on the show floor to provide visitors with a more complete supply chain experience.

To make it easier for you to find the solutions you need, Modex’s 800 exhibits are organized into convenient solution-specific centers: manufacturing and assembly solutions; information technology (IT) solutions; fulfillment and delivery solutions; and SCT.

The Modex Supply Chain Conference includes theater centers on the show floor featuring 100 show floor educational seminars. In addition, a variety of association and organization partners are co-locating with Modex to offer additional educational offerings. Please visit the show floor theaters at the right of the show floor or consult your Modex/SCT Expo Guide for titles, locations and times of these educational sessions. You can also download the official Modex app to have all this information at your fingertips.

The Modex Supply Chain Conference will also feature keynotes today, tomorrow and Wednesday morning that will explore many issues and trends impacting supply chains. Today, Edward H. Bastian, president of Delta Airlines, and William L. Strang, president of the Americas, Operations Group for TOTO USA and chairman, TOTO Mexico will discuss shipping trends for Global Supply Chains at 8:30 a.m. in Room B312.

In addition, we will announce our MHI Innovation Award winners during tomorrow morning’s keynote featuring former Walmart CEO Lee Scott. This award showcases new products and innovations presented by Modex exhibitors. The winners will be chosen in two categories: Best New Innovation and Best Innovation of an Existing Product. I encourage you to view all the MHI Innovation Award submissions in the Level Two Lobby of Hall B of the Georgia World Congress Center.

Modex offers many opportunities to connect with your peers in the networking lounge at the back of the show floor. The lounge offers opportunities to meet and network with other attendees as well as wi-fi, e-mail kiosks and access to information on career opportunities offered by Modex exhibitors in Career Forum kiosks.

Modex will also feature several networking events during the week including Industry Night at the Georgia Aquarium this evening, a MHI Young Professionals Network “Meet and Greet” on Tuesday evening and Modex After Hours at the Luckie Marietta District on Wednesday night. Visit the Modex main registration for more information on these evening events.

MHI is proud to sponsor Modex and ProMat 2015 (March 23 to 26, 2015 at Chicago’s McCormick Place) and to represent the industry that provides the essential solutions that make supply chains work. For more information on MHI programs, visit Booth 6743 on the Modex show floor or visit http://www.mhi.org.
