Modex 2024: Empowering women in supply chain

MHI will be hosting a Women in Supply Chain Forum at Modex 2024.

It’s no secret that the supply chain sector faces a growing shortage of skilled talent, and that women represent a substantial, untapped resource. By encouraging more women to pursue supply chain careers, organizations can expand their talent pool and address the industry's labor shortage.

As part of its mission to bring the entire supply chain ecosystem together, MHI will be hosting a Women in Supply Chain Forum at Modex 2024. The interactive workshop will feature a keynote with Shunta Grant of wellness technology company Best Today. Attendees will learn how to identify and honor their current season of work and life. They’ll learn how to define their current boundaries, get clarity on who they are and what they want in this season, and create boundaries that minimize distractions and discontent.

MHI’s Director of Talent and Development Rebecca Woods says the event will also feature networking opportunities that encourage conversations and idea-sharing among the attendees. Men are also encouraged to join, says Woods, who has seen more participation from men in these types of industry events recently.

“We've had a lot of gentlemen starting to join us in this, and we love that we have allies to be able to partner with and who understand more of what we're doing,” says Woods.

This year, the event also features more sponsors. If that level of sponsor interest continues she sees the event potentially being expanded to a full day. “As we continue to develop this very important event,” says Woods, “we’re always looking for new ways to expand it and make it bigger and better.”

The Women in Supply Chain Forum will take place on Monday March 11th, in the Georgia Ballroom Building C, Level 3 from 12pm - 5pm (lunch 12-1, keynote 1-4, reception 4-5). Separate fee ($125) and registration is required for this event.
