Motion Industries to acquire OBBCO Safety & Supply

Material handling parts distributor acquires Mid-Atlantic industrial safety distributor.


Motion Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company, has acquired OBBCO Safety & Supply, a Chesapeake, Va.-based industrial safety distributor.

OBBCO provides product from more than 100 safety supply manufacturers, with offerings including personal protective equipment, hazardous storage units, first aid supplies, and gas detection equipment.

In business since 1985, OBBCO serves a variety of customers and end markets from small businesses to large national corporations. OBBCO will continue operations under its existing management team.

“OBBCO Safety looks forward to the opportunities that Motion Industries will bring to our employees and our customers,” said OBBCO owner Mike Bryant. “This will provide OBBCO with the ability to expand our footprint in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, combining more than 30 years of safety solution expertise with the national distribution footprint of Motion Industries.”
