Motor Freight Trends: Time for creative thinking MOTOR FREIGHT TRENDS: Time for creative thinking While motor freight is by far the most critical mode of transportation for U.S. logistics professionals, it can also be the most complicated to manage in terms of rates, capacity, shifting relationships as well as the changing regulations that govern its operations.

As Logistics Management has found in its recent reporting, the tightening ground transportation market is going to require “creative thinking and innovation” on the part of shippers and their carrier partners. And while new technology has ushered in many improvements, many analysts believe that old-fashioned ingenuity, building better relationships with carriers and an increasing knowledge base of best practices may help logisticians ride out the challenges longer term.
