NA 2010: Automatic guided cart for automotive assembly lines

NA 2010, slated for April 26-29, will showcase more than 500 exhibits and include a comprehensive educational conference. The event, held at the I-X Center in Cleveland, will offer an array of products to help improve productivity at your company.

Ideal for use in assembling automotive seat components, a new automatic guided cart system of vehicles navigates around a fixed guide path of two complete loops while various seat models are assembled onboard the traveling cart. Made of magnetic tape, the guide path installs in a few hours for accurate guidance with flexibility for layout changes. The carts are equipped with an on-board, color touchscreen that controls nine selectable speeds. A stationary, off-board control system with programmable logic control and color touchscreen communicates wirelessly with the AGCs to relay system activity to a host computer.
