New company. New name. New face. Even new technology. Built on the foundation of an established company.
That was the story from TGW Systems (Booth 612), at a press conference on Tuesday. “This is a coming out party,” said Larry Strayhorn, president. “For years we were known as TGW-Ermanco, and we sold primarily through distributors.” The new name reflects a new strategy. “We will continue to support our distributor partners and continue to manufacture the Ermanco line of conveyors,” said Strayhorn. “But we will also bring European automation technology to North America and sell direct to the marketplace as a systems integrator.”
Part of that new technology was on display, including new motor driven roller conveyor and the Mustang Evo, a mini-load AS/RS machine with a new mast design that is 25% lighter, uses 20% less energy and 50% fewer drive motors that previous TGW AS/RS technology.
“We believe this is the fastest storage retrieval machine in the industry,” Strayhorn said.
