Anyone who came to Modex 2022 wanting to learn more about micro-fulfillment and emerging technology trends should check out the two new theaters dedicated to these important topics.
Situated right on the show floor, the Emerging Technologies and Micro-Fulfillment Theaters will feature a lineup of sessions meant to help attendees fully leverage micro-fulfillment and/or learn more about what technologies are coming.
New for 2022, the theaters were designed to help attendees get even more out of the Modex experience. “Education has always been a valued component of our Modex and ProMat trade shows, by attendees and exhibitors alike,” Greg Baer, director of sales for MHI, said.
Some of the topics that will be addressed during these sessions are predictive and prescriptive analytics, effective software evaluation and robotics. Other sessions will focus on the Cloud, artificial intelligence and using technology for continuous improvement.
“As leading-edge technologies continue to disrupt traditional supply chains by creating more-efficient next-generation models that are on-demand and always‑on,” Baer added, “the industry has a thirst to learn what is next.
As organizations in the supply chain find new ways to increase productivity and improve the level of service for end-users, Baer said it comes as no surprise that micro-fulfillment centers have been adopted to help achieve these goals, particularly in grocery and e-commerce.
The theaters were designed to create a more informal, “town hall” type setting that fosters discussion and dialogue and where practitioners can share ideas that will advance the industry. “We feel it is important to give industry practitioners and solution providers a platform to connect, learn and meet,” Baer added.
