NMHG donates $55,000 to United Way of Pitt County

After the check presentation, the team scored another four touchdowns to total $59,000.

Through an affiliation with East Carolina University (ECU) athletics, NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG) has donated $55,000 to the United Way of Pitt County based on the number of ECU touchdowns scored throughout the 2014 football season.

“NMHG is honored to make a donation to the United Way of Pitt County for each ECU touchdown—and with a strong offense, the Pirates certainly did their part in helping NMHG achieve another successful donation,” said Chuck Pascarelli, president of sales and marketing, Americas, NMHG. “Beyond a great football season, we also look forward to basketball and baseball seasons, which will provide NMHG additional opportunities to partner with ECU and support our community through the United Way.”

At the final regular season ECU home football game against the University of Central Florida (UCF) on December 4, NMHG presented the United Way of Pitt County with a check for $55,000 based on the number of touchdowns scored up to that point. NMHG’s Chuck Pascarelli along with Tina Goodwin, vice president of account identification and customer data management, presented the check to Jim Cieslar, executive director, and John Bacon, director of development, with the United Way of Pitt County.

ECU scored four additional touchdowns during Thursday night’s game, bringing the total NMHG contribution to $59,000. Winning eight games this season, ECU is slated to play in the 2014 Birmingham Bowl on January 3, in Birmingham, Ala., against the University of Florida. NMHG will also donate based on the number of ECU touchdowns completed during the bowl game. NMHG is beginning its fifth year in collaboration with ECU athletics to benefit the United Way and has donated more than $415,000 through the program to date.
