Pregis announces price increase for protective packaging products

CEO cites raw material price increases.

Pregis Corp. has announced a 7% price increase in North America, effective March 17, 2014, for its line of protective packaging solutions.

Products included are:
● Air cushioning rollstock, converted and lamination
● Foam rollstock, converted and lamination
● Microfoam polypropylene foam
● Engineered foam
● Inflatable packaging systems
● Paper packaging products & systems
● Mailers

Additionally, IntelliPack SmartFoam foam-in-place liquids will increase by 19 cents per pound. All other IntelliPack consumables (SmartFilm bags, SmartLube cleaning solution) will increase by 7%.

In making the announcement, Pregis president and CEO Kevin Baudhuin stated that raw material price increases are continuing to compress operating margins.

“We are diligent in our efforts to control all aspects of our manufacturing and transportation expenses to minimize the impact of these rising costs on our customers,” Baudhuin said. “However, immediate recovery of a portion of these soaring costs is necessary so that Pregis can continue to develop innovative solutions designed to better address evolving customer needs.”
