SDI takes “group” identity worldwide

SDI Group USA (Booth 3933) announced Tuesday at a press conference that it has changed its name from SDI Industries as part of a tighter branding under the SDI Group name worldwide.

SDI Group USA (Booth 3933) announced Tuesday at a press conference that it has changed its name from SDI Industries as part of a tighter branding under the SDI Group name worldwide.

There are eight regions and 15 offices among the eight SDI Group entities worldwide, said Ralph Henderson, VP of sales for SDI Group USA. “The group—known for its materials handling solutions for the apparel industry—has been working together closely for years, but this formalizes the group name to build greater awareness in the market,” he said.

The group is known for applying design and systems know-how from one part of the world to other regions and facilities where they make sense, said Henderson, such as using space-saving tray sortation developed for a site in Holland in other sites where space is tight. “We take the best ideas and features from around the world and apply them locally,” he said. “But we do things flexibly, rather than dictating one solution.”

ProMat 2013 is scheduled to be held January 21-24, 2013 in Chicago’s McCormick Place South. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete ProMat 2013 coverage.
