Seegrid names CEO to grow robotic industrial leadership

Anthony Horbal, who most recently served as president and is a significant investor in Seegrid, will take over as chief executive officer of the company.

Seegrid Corporation announced the appointment of Anthony Horbal as chief executive officer. Horbal most recently served as president, and is a significant investor in Seegrid. Horbal previously founded and was president of Three Rivers Health Plans, Inc., a Pennsylvania Medicaid Health Plan. In 2008, Horbal sold the company to United Health Plans.

Scott Friedman, newly appointed president of Seegrid, stated, “With Anthony’s proven track record of building and managing growth companies, he is ideally suited to lead Seegrid to the next level of business growth. His expertise as an entrepreneurial leader and business manager is vital to achieving Seegrid’s efforts as the robotic material handling industry leader. Strategically, my role as president and co-founder of Seegrid will ensure an integration of the technology, the industry-sector expertise, and our vision, with all members of our outstanding management team.”

The rapid growth of Seegrid and projected future growth are due in large part to the working relationships with the leading suppliers in the materials handling industry. Horbal announced that the company’s internal investors have infused an additional $5 million in funding. “This commitment will provide the financial resources to enable Seegrid to execute its business plan and maintain its leadership position in the robotic industrial truck market,” stated Horbal.

“Seegrid is uniquely positioned to capture significant market share in this $165 billion U.S. materials handling industry. These robotic industrial trucks best address the concerns of every CEO and CFO: business efficiency and increasing productivity. Seegrid accomplishes this requirement in a way no other material handling system can replicate,” noted Horbal.

Seegrid, founded in 2003, is backed by more than 30 years of innovation and research.

In addition to Anthony Horbal and Scott Friedman, the Seegrid management team includes, Hans Moravec, who serves as co-founder and chief scientist at Seegrid. Mitchell Weiss is the chief operating officer, responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the engineering and manufacturing departments. David R. Heilman is chief administrative officer, overseeing finance and business operations. Mark Faurie is the chief financial officer, responsible for leading the finance department.
