Modex 2012: Video competition helps exhibitors attract attendees to booths

To give Modex 2012 exhibitors another means to entice attendees to their displays, the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) sponsored the “One Minute to Connect” contest.

To give Modex 2012 exhibitors another means to entice attendees to their displays, the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) sponsored the “One Minute to Connect” contest. Using the power of video-based marketing, “One Minute to Connect” offered exhibitors an additional opportunity to entice visitors to stop by their booth, said Carol Miller, MHIA’s vice president of marketing and communications.

“Exhibitors created a one minute video—posted on YouTube and linked on the http://www.modexshow.com site for broadcast—to explain why a stop at their booth should be on an attendee’s show agenda,” Miller explained “Several companies participated, offering informative, engaging, persuasive—and even humorous—pitches.”

Any exhibitor was welcome to enter. Modex attendees judged entries with the click of a thumbs-up icon. The voting officially began September 15, 2011 and ended at 4 p.m. on January 26, 2012.

To ensure the validity of the results, attendees were only able to place one vote per video, says Miller. The top three vote getters— Seegrid, Hytrol and Juniper Systems—will have their video displayed on the Modex home page before and during the show. Additionally, the three winners will each receive a $100 gift certificate.

Modex 2012 is scheduled to be held February 6-9, 2012 in Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center. The tradeshow will showcase the latest manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the material handling and logistics industry. Modern’s complete Modex 2012 coverage.
